New York City Marketing Company Uses Google Adsense To Cut PPC Costs
If PPC costs are playing havoc with your advertising budget, then you’ll be happy to hear that there is a no-cost solution to reducing those costs. Recently, we learned how a New York City marketing company uses Google Adsense to subsidize and reduce pay per click costs by one third! If being able to cut more than thirty percent of your advertising expense sounds like something you’re interested in, then read on.
In case you haven’t entered the wide, wide world of pay-per-click (PPC) advertising yet, here’s a quick primer. PPC is probably best known to you simply as, Google Adwords. There are other PPC options available besides Adwords, but for most people PPC advertising begins there.
A PPC advertising campaign begins with setting up a budget, making up a short text ad and applying specific keywords or key-phrases to the ad. You’ve seen these ads all over the web! They are the same ads that this NYC firm used to make money from.
Companies place ads into Adwords all day long. Other companies bid on the keywords associated with the ads. The level of bidding, in real time, determines how much the Adwords (PPC) advertiser will pay to have their ad run under specific keywords. Once activated the ad in a campaign appears in the sidebar of a Google search on the associated keyword(s). But that’s not the only place these ads can be found.
These PPC ads also appear all over the internet on niche host sites. Publishers who own blogs and websites may elect to run these ads on their sites inviting their visitors to click on any of the PPC ads that they run on their website. The ads appear on these various sites through Google Adsense. Basically, publishers sign up with Adsense free of charge and once approved are allowed to embed code into their site pages that allows the Adwords’ ads to appear on their website or blog just as the ads appear on the search engine’s sidebar.
Basically, the NYC firm mentioned earlier figured out that they could stopped simply ‘expensing’ their advertising through PPC (Adwords) and could generate a revenue offset through publishing ads via Adsense. They signed up for a free account and embedded the code into their site. Based on specific keywords that relate to the content on their site, other company’s PPC ads run on the NYC firm’s site and generate ancillary income for them. This income helps the firm reduce the cost of their own PPC campaigns.
There are plenty of ways to increase performance on the Adsense side and once you sign up you’ll be privy to tutorials supplied by Google that will help you understand how best to use Adsense on your site, as well as how to increase revenue to its maximum potential. After you sign-up, Google Adsense must approve your site. As long as you’re signing up as a business and do not have pornographic material or competing PPC on your site, your chances of being approved are pretty good.
That New York City marketing company used Google Adsense to subsidize and reduce pay per click costs by one third by using all of the tools available through the program. There are smart ways to make increased revenue by adding search to your site through the program and by requesting higher bidding ads. Using this web marketing strategy isn’t necessarily a ‘secret’ because it’s been around for a while. But if your company isn’t taking advantage of a ‘free’ revenue stream, then you might want to review how much your spending now and how your PPC budget can be cut using Adsense too!
